Nothing keeps the tension high like a live scoreboard in the room. Teams watch their position climb or drop in real time, and that visible competition turns an ordinary drinking competition into a real spectacle. What you need
You only need a few things for a live scoreboard in the room:
- A screen: a projector with a screen, a large TV or any other big screen in the room.
- A device to run the browser: a laptop, mini PC or media player. The scoreboard runs in any modern browser, including a tablet or a smart TV with a built-in browser.
- A connection between device and screen: an HDMI cable, or wireless via Chromecast, AirPlay or a smart TV.
- A stable internet connection: Wi-Fi or wired. The scoreboard syncs the standings in real time, so it does not work offline.

Step by step
Step 1: Connect your device to the screen
Connect your laptop or media player to the projector or TV via HDMI, or cast the picture wirelessly. Test that the image comes through properly before the doors open: you don’t want to discover this while the first teams are already at the bar.
Step 2: Open the scoreboard and pick your event
On that device, go to scoreboard.barbattle.app and log in with your Bar Battle account (email, Google or Apple). Then pick the event whose scoreboard you want to show. The standings appear right away and refresh by themselves with every new drink: you never have to reload the page manually.
Step 3: Put the scoreboard in fullscreen
For a clean picture without browser bars, switch the scoreboard to fullscreen. Use the fullscreen button in the top-right corner (the ⛶ icon) on the scoreboard page, or your browser’s fullscreen key (on most laptops that’s F11). The standings then fill the whole screen and everything looks professional.
Step 4: Place the screen where everyone can see it
Put the projector or TV somewhere everyone in the room can easily follow along: centrally above the bar or next to the stage usually works best. The more visible the standings, the harder the teams go.
What you see on screen
At the top, the scoreboard shows a podium with the top 3: the leader in the middle with a trophy, second and third beside it with a medal. Below that the ranking continues (fourth, fifth, sixth and so on) with each team’s points total next to it. Every time the bar staff adds a drink in the app, the standings shift live. No refresh, no delay.
Tips for a flawless scoreboard
- Test everything in advance. Checking the picture, connection and internet before the first guest arrives saves stress later.
- Turn off sleep mode and the screensaver on the laptop or media player, so the screen doesn’t go black mid-evening.
- Keep the device plugged in. A laptop that dies after two hours takes your scoreboard down with it.
- Make sure Wi-Fi is strong where the device is, or run a network cable. A patchy connection means patchy standings.
- Choose short, readable team names. From a distance, “Toog Tornado” simply reads more easily than half a sentence.
- Keep the device out of the public’s reach. Put the laptop behind the bar or somewhere safe so no one bumps it by accident.
Something not working?
- Standings not refreshing? Check the internet connection: the scoreboard only works online.
- Wrong event or none showing? Pick the right event again at the top, or log back in with the right account.
- Screen dropping out? The screensaver or sleep mode is probably still on; turn it off.
